4. Tatūnga me te Runanga

Follow these steps carefully for proper assembly. It is recommended to have two adults for assembly.

  1. Wewete Waenga: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging and lay them out on a clean, flat surface. Check against the parts list.
  2. Whakapirihia nga wira o muri: Slide the rear wheels onto the axle until they click into place. Ensure they are securely fastened and spin freely.
  3. Tāuta Wīra Mua: Insert the front wheel assembly into the main frame. Secure it with the provided pins or screws as per the diagram.
  4. Whakapiri i te nohoanga me te tuara: Mount the padded seat onto the frame. Then, attach the backrest to the seat assembly. Ensure the swivel mechanism is functional.
  5. Tāutahia te Kakau Pana: Insert the push handle into the designated slot at the rear of the tricycle. Secure it firmly.
  6. Attach Sun Canopy: Slide the canopy frame into the slots on the backrest or seat assembly. Adjust its position as needed.
  7. Attach Front Bar and Footrests: Secure the removable front bar in front of the seat. Attach the foldable footrests and the separate footrests for smaller children as required.
  8. Tirohanga Haumaru Whakamutunga: Before first use, double-check all connections, screws, and moving parts to ensure they are tight and secure. Test the brakes and free-wheel function.

5. Nga Tohutohu Whakahaere

5.1. Te Whakatikatika i te Nohoanga me te Tuara

  • Noho Tuuru: To change the seat direction (parent-facing or forward-facing), locate the release mechanism (usually a lever or button) underneath the seat. Engage the mechanism, rotate the seat to the desired position, and ensure it locks securely in place.
  • Tautokonga Whakatikatika: The backrest can be reclined for your child's comfort. Use the adjustment lever or button on the side or rear of the backrest to set the desired angle. Ensure it clicks into a locked position.

5.2. Using Footrests and Pedals

  • Foldable Footrest: For younger children who cannot reach the pedals, extend the foldable footrest. When not needed, it can be folded away.
  • Separate Footrests: An additional set of footrests is provided for very small children, offering a more comfortable and secure position. Attach them as per the instructions.
  • Lockable Pedals: To prevent the child's feet from getting caught while the tricycle is being pushed, engage the pedal lock mechanism (usually a button or switch on the front wheel hub). This disengages the pedals from the wheel. To allow the child to pedal, disengage the lock.
  • Free-Wheel Function: This function allows the front wheel to spin independently of the pedals. Engage it when pushing the tricycle so the child's feet don't have to move with the pedals. Disengage it when the child is ready to pedal independently.

5.3. Te urungi me te Braking

  • Push Handle Control: The comfortable push handle allows parents to steer the front wheel of the tricycle. Gently move the handle left or right to guide the tricycle's direction.
  • Rear Wheel Brakes: To engage the brakes, push down on the brake levers located near the rear wheels. Ensure both brakes are engaged when parking the tricycle to prevent accidental movement.

6. Tiaki

  • Whakahinuhinu: Periodically check and lubricate moving parts like wheel axles and pedal mechanisms with a silicone-based lubricant to ensure smooth operation.
  • Tirotiro: Regularly inspect all screws, bolts, and fasteners to ensure they are tight. Check for any signs of wear, cracks, or damage on the frame, wheels, and fabric components. Replace damaged parts immediately.
  • Rokiroki: Store the tricycle in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures to prevent material degradation.

7. Te Raru

  • Tricycle unstable: Ensure all assembly points are securely fastened. Check that the wheels are properly attached and not wobbly. Do not exceed the maximum weight limit.
