4. Tatūnga me te Tāuta
Installation of the Moen Essie Smart Faucet is designed to be straightforward. Follow these steps carefully:
- Whakaritea te Totohu: Turn off the hot and cold water supply valves under the sink. Remove your old faucet. Clean the sink surface thoroughly.
- Tāutahia te Kōrere: Place the faucet body through the sink hole. If your sink has multiple holes, use the included deck plate. Secure the faucet from underneath the sink using the provided mounting hardware.
- Honoa Raina Wai: Attach the flexible supply lines from the faucet to your hot and cold water supply valves. Ensure connections are tight to prevent leaks.
- Tāutahia te Pouaka Mana: Mount the control box in an accessible location under the sink. Insert the 6 D batteries into the control box.
- Connect Faucet to Control Box: Connect the data cable and water lines from the faucet to the corresponding ports on the control box. The Duralock Quick Connect System simplifies this step.
- Taumahinga Whakamatau: Slowly turn on the hot and cold water supply valves. Check for leaks. Test the faucet's manual operation, then proceed to test the smart features.

Your Moen Essie Smart Faucet offers multiple ways to control water flow:
5.1. Mahi A-ringa
Use the single handle to control water flow and temperature. Lift the handle for water flow, and move it left for hot water or right for cold water.

5.2. Touchless Sensor Operation
Wave your hand over the sensor located at the front of the faucet to turn water on or off. The water will flow at the temperature set by the manual handle.

5.3. Mana Reo
Connect your faucet to Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant for hands-free voice commands. Exampkei roto ko:

5.4. Moen Smart Water App Control
Download the Moen Smart Water App to control your faucet, create custom presets (e.g., "Coffee Pot," "Dog Bowl"), and monitor water usage. The app provides advanced customization and tracking features.

5.5. Pull-Down Sprayer and Power Boost
The faucet features a pull-down sprayer with two spray modes: stream and Power Boost. Press the button on the sprayer head to switch between modes. The Power Boost function provides 50% more spray power for efficient cleaning.

6. Tiaki
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your faucet.
- Te horoi: Clean the faucet regularly with a soft cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, or polishing agents, as these can damage the Spot Resist Stainless finish.
- Spot Resist Finish: The Spot Resist Stainless finish is designed to resist fingerprints and water spots. Wipe with a soft, damp kakahu kia mau tonu tona ahua.
- Whakakapinga Pūhiko: The control box uses 6 D batteries. Replace them annually or when the low battery indicator (if available) illuminates.
- Whakapai Aerator: Periodically unscrew the aerator from the sprayer head and clean any mineral deposits or debris.
