3. Tatūnga & Tāuta
Proper installation is crucial for the security and functionality of your lockset. Follow the steps below carefully. For detailed visual guides, refer to the separate installation templates and videos provided by Weiser.
3.1 Door Preparation Requirements:
- Matotoru o te tatau: 1 3/8" - 1 3/4" (35mm - 44mm)
- Bore Hole (Powerbolt 2): 2 1/8" (54mm)
- Latch Backset (Halifax): Adjustable 2 3/8" - 2 3/4" (60mm - 70mm)
- Cross Bore (Halifax): 2 1/8" (54mm)
3.2 General Installation Steps:
- Prepare the door according to the dimensions above.
- Install the latches into the door edge. Ensure the correct backset is selected for the Halifax lever.
- Mount the exterior keypad assembly of the Powerbolt 2.
- Install the interior assembly of the Powerbolt 2, connecting the cable from the exterior unit.
- Install the Halifax lever handle set, ensuring it is reversible for your door's swing direction.

- Insert batteries into the Powerbolt 2 interior assembly.

4. Nga Tohutohu Whakahaere
4.1 Powerbolt 2 Operation:
- Unlocking with a User Code: Enter your 4-8 digit user code on the keypad, then press the Lock button. The deadbolt will retract.
- Unlocking with a Key: Kōkuhua te kī ki roto i te rango ka tahuri hei iriti.
- Te raka mai i waho: Press the Lock button on the keypad. The deadbolt will extend.
- Te raka mai i roto: Tahurihia te koromatua o te huihuinga o roto ki te tūranga raka.
- Āhuahira Maukati-Aunoa: The lock will automatically re-lock 30 seconds after being unlocked if no further action is taken. This feature can be enabled or disabled during programming.
- Papapātuhi Whakamuri: The keypad illuminates when any button is pressed, allowing for easy operation in low light conditions.

4.2 Halifax Lever Operation:
- The Halifax lever is a passage lever, meaning it does not lock from the exterior.
- For privacy versions, a push-button on the interior rosette locks the lever. An emergency key or tool can be used from the exterior to unlock.
- Simply depress the lever handle to open the door.
5. Programming Codes (Powerbolt 2)
The Powerbolt 2 allows for the creation and management of user codes. Refer to the detailed programming guide included with your lock for specific steps on adding, deleting, and managing user codes, as well as enabling/disabling features like auto-lock.
- Waehere Matua: A master code is required for programming. It is recommended to change the default master code immediately after installation.
- Adding User Codes: Follow the instructions to add up to 6 unique user codes for family members or trusted individuals.
- Deleting User Codes: Individual user codes can be deleted as needed.
- Enabling/Disabling Features: The auto-lock feature and other settings can be adjusted through programming.

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Weiser lockset.
