The Femometer DET-306 thermometer requires 2 AAA batteries, which are included in the package. To install or replace batteries:
- Kimihia te uhi o te wahanga pākahiko kei muri o te inemahana.

Taking a Body Temperature (Forehead Mode)
- Whakahiko: Patohia te mana hiko (⏻) to turn on the thermometer. The display will activate and show all segments during a self-check. After the self-check, the person icon (👤) will appear on the display, indicating it's in body temperature mode.
- Turanga: Aim the thermometer at the center of the forehead, maintaining a distance of 0.3 to 1.2 inches (approximately half the length of a ring finger) from the skin. Ensure there are no obstructions like hair or sweat.
- Ine: Press the "START" button. The thermometer will emit a beep, and the temperature reading will appear on the display within 1 second.
- Panui Whakamaori: The backlit display will change color to indicate temperature levels:
- Kākāriki: Normal temperature (typically T ≤ 99.1°F).
- Karaka: Slightly elevated temperature (typically 99.1°F < T < 100°F).
- Whero: Fever (typically T ≥ 100°F). A long beep followed by three short beeps will sound to warn the user of a fever.
- Repeat Measurement: It is recommended to take a second measurement at a 3-second interval for consistency.

Taking an Object Temperature (Object Mode)
The thermometer can also measure the temperature of objects, liquids, or rooms.
- Whakawhiti Aratau: After powering on, press the mode button (house icon 🏠) to switch from body mode to object mode. The house icon will appear on the display.
- Turanga: Aim the thermometer at the object or surface you wish to measure.
- Ine: Press the "START" button. The temperature reading of the object will be displayed.

Switching Temperature Units (℃/℉)
