4. Tatūnga me te Tāuta
The Weiser SmartCode Keypad Electronic Deadbolt is designed for easy installation. For detailed, interactive 3D instructions with voice and video guidance, it is recommended to use the free BILT app.

5. Nga Tohutohu Whakahaere
5.1 Maukati i te Kuwaha
- Maukati-Kotahi: Press the Lock button (padlock icon) on the keypad. The deadbolt will extend, securing the door.
- Āhuahira Maukati-Aunoa: The lock can be programmed to automatically re-lock after a set period (e.g., 30 seconds) after unlocking. Refer to the programming section for details on enabling/disabling this feature.

5.2 Te iriti i te Kuwaha
- Ma te Waehere Kaiwhakamahi: Enter your personalized 4-8 digit user code on the keypad. The deadbolt will retract, unlocking the door.
- Whakamahi Kī: Insert the physical key into the keyway and turn to unlock.

5.3 Keypad Features
- Papapātuhi Whakamuri: The keypad illuminates for increased visibility in low-light conditions and remains lit for 30 seconds after inactivity.

5.4 Waehere Kaiwhakamahi Papatono
The lock supports up to 50 unique user access codes and one master code. The master code is used for programming and managing user codes.

5.5 SmartKey Re-Key Technology
SmartKey Security allows you to re-key your lock yourself in seconds, providing flexibility and control over your keys. This is useful in situations such as moving to a new home, losing keys, or managing multiple doors with a single key.

To re-key your lock:
- Insert your functioning key (the key that currently operates the lock) and turn it 90 degrees clockwise.
- Insert the SmartKey tool fully into the SmartKey hole.
- Remove the SmartKey tool.
- Tangohia tō kī e mahi ana.
- Insert your new key fully and turn it 180 degrees counter-clockwise.
- Tangohia te kī hou. Kua honoa anō te raka ki te kī hou.
6. Tiaki
6.1 Whakakapinga Pūhiko
The deadbolt operates on 4 AA alkaline batteries. When the batteries are low, the lock will provide an audible and/or visual low battery warning. Replace all four batteries simultaneously with new, high-quality alkaline batteries.

Expected battery life is approximately 12 months under normal usage conditions.
