3. Tatūnga
3.1 Te Whakataki i te Pūrere
Before first use, fully charge the device. Connect the provided USB Type-C cable to the pen's Type-C interface and the other end to a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a computer USB port. The charging indicator will show the charging status.
A full charge typically provides 5-6 hours of active use or 4 days of standby time.
3.2 Kei te Hiko / Weto
- Whakahiko: Press and hold the Power Button until the screen lights up.
- Weto Whakakore: Press and hold the Power Button, then select "Power Off" on the screen.
- Moe/Maara: Briefly press the Power Button to put the device to sleep or wake it up.

For online translation and updates, connect the device to a Wi-Fi network or a mobile hotspot.
- From the home screen, swipe down to access the quick settings or navigate to "Settings".
- Select "Wi-Fi" or "Network".
- Choose your desired network from the list.
- Enter the password if prompted and confirm.

4. Nga Tohutohu Whakahaere
4.1 Matawai Whakamāoritanga
This function allows you to scan text and get an instant translation. Supports 12 languages offline and more online.
- Select "Scan Translation" from the main menu.
- Kōwhiria te reo pūtake me te reo ūnga.
- Position the pen over the text you wish to scan, ensuring the alignment guide is centered over the line.
- Gently press the pen tip down and slide it smoothly across the text.
- The scanned text and its translation will appear on the screen.
- You can adjust reading speed (slow, normal, fast) and save scans for review.

4.2 Whakamāoritanga Whakaahua
Translate text from images using the built-in camera. Supports 12 languages offline.
- Select "Photo Translation" from the main menu.
- Whakataia te kāmera ki te tuhinga e hiahia ana koe ki te whakamāori.
- Me whakarite kia mārama te tuhinga, kia mārama hoki i roto i te anga o te kāmera.
- Patohia te mata hei hopu i te ahua.

4.3 Whakamāoritanga Reo
Engage in real-time voice translation for conversations. Supports 112 languages online.
- Select "Voice Translation" from the main menu.
- Choose the two languages for the conversation.
- Press and hold the Hot Key (or designated button) and speak clearly into the microphone.
- Release the button, and the device will translate and speak the translation aloud.
4.4 Text Excerpt
Extract text from scanned documents for digital use or printing.
- Select "Text Excerpt" from the main menu.
- Scan the desired text as you would for scan translation.
- The extracted text will be displayed and can be saved or synced.

4.5 Kaituhi reo
Record audio for business meetings, lectures, or personal notes.
- Select "Recorder" from the main menu.
- Pāwhiritia te pātene tuhi hei tīmata tuhi.
- Tap again to pause/resume, and tap the stop button to end the recording.
- Recordings are saved and can be played back or transferred.
4.6 MP3 Player
Purei ororongo files stored on the device or an inserted TF card.
- Select "MP3" from the main menu.
- Browse and select the audio file e hiahia ana koe ki te takaro.
- Use the on-screen controls for playback (play, pause, skip).

4.7 Peripage App Integration
The device can connect to the Peripage App for enhanced functionality, including printing scanned content and downloading audio files.
- Download the Peripage App on your smartphone or tablet.
- Ensure both the pen and your mobile device are connected to the same network or Bluetooth.
- Follow the app's instructions to pair the device and access features like "Direct Print" and "Data Sync".
5. Tiaki

To maintain optimal performance, regularly clean your scanning pen.
