2. Waenga Hua
The RAINPOINT WiFi Water Flow Meter package typically includes the following components:

3. Tatūnga
3.1 Tāuta Pūhiko
The water flow meter requires batteries for operation. Follow these steps to install them:
- Locate the battery compartment on the side of the flow meter unit.
- Carefully remove the display screen from the side to access the battery slot.
- Insert the required CR2032 battery, ensuring correct polarity (positive and negative aspects).
- Reattach the display screen securely.

3.2 Tāutanga Tinana
The flow meter is designed for easy connection to standard garden hoses and spigots.
- Attach the quick connect adapter to your outdoor spigot.
- Connect the flow meter unit to the quick connect adapter on the spigot. Ensure the flow direction arrow on the meter aligns with the water flow.
- Connect your garden hose to the other end of the flow meter.

3.3 Hononga Taupānga
To utilize the smart features, download the companion app and connect your device:
- Download the 'Homgar' app from your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android).

- Follow the in-app instructions to add your RAINPOINT WiFi Water Flow Meter. This typically involves selecting 'Add Device' and following prompts to connect to your home WiFi network.

4.1 Aratau Ine
The flow meter offers four distinct measurement modes:
- GPM/LPM Flow Tracking: Displays real-time water flow rate in Gallons Per Minute (GPM) or Liters Per Minute (LPM). This is useful for estimating watering time for specific tasks like filling a pool.
- Consumption Mode: Tracks and displays the water consumed for a single watering session.
- Aratau Tapeke: Accumulates and displays the total water consumption over time.
- Average Mode: Records and displays average water consumption over 24 hours, 30 days, or 12 months.

4.2 Ngā Āhuatanga Taupānga Atamai
The Homgar app enhances the functionality of your flow meter:
- Aroturuki Wā-tūturu: View current flow rates and water usage directly from your smartphone.
- Water Usage Alerts: Receive instant notifications if your water consumption exceeds a pre-set limit.
- Raraunga Hono: Access hourly, daily, and monthly water usage reports to track trends and estimate water bills.
- Water Use Calibration: Calibrate the water usage value in the app with a range of ±3% for increased accuracy.
- Scheduling and Rain Delay: If connected to a compatible RAINPOINT smart irrigation system, you can set watering schedules and implement rain delays.

5. Tiaki
5.1 Te horoi
Regularly inspect the flow meter for any debris or mineral buildup, especially around the connections and the internal impeller. Clean with a soft brush and water if necessary. Avoid using harsh chemicals.
5.2 Whakakapinga Pūhiko
When the display indicates low battery, replace the CR2032 battery following the steps in Section 3.1. Prompt battery replacement ensures continuous and accurate data collection.
5.3 Te whakatotoke
For outdoor use in freezing climates, disconnect the flow meter from the spigot and hose before the first frost. Store the unit indoors in a dry, protected area to prevent damage from freezing water.
