1. Utu Tuatahi

Before first use, fully charge your Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition. Connect the included USB-C charging cable to the device and a compatible USB power adapter (sold separately) or a computer's USB port. A full charge takes less than 2.5 hours with a 9W USB power adapter.

2. Te Hiko / Whakaweto

To power on, press and hold the power button located on the bottom edge of the device for a few seconds until the screen illuminates. To turn off, press and hold the power button until a power dialog appears, then select "Power Off". A short press of the power button will put the device to sleep or wake it up.

3. Hononga Wi-Fi

Upon first power-on, the device will guide you through connecting to a Wi-Fi network. Select your network from the list and enter the password if required. The device supports 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz networks with WEP, WPA, WPA2, WPA3, and OWE security.

4. Device Registration

After connecting to Wi-Fi, you will be prompted to register your Kindle to an Amazon account. This links your device to your Kindle library and allows access to the Kindle Store.

Navigating and Reading

The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition features a responsive touchscreen. Tap the right side of the screen to turn to the next page, and the left side to go back. You can also swipe left or right. Tap the top of the screen to access reading options, including font size, font face, line spacing, and margins.

Auto-Adjusting Front Light

The device includes an auto-adjusting front light that adapts to your surroundings, providing optimal brightness for reading in various lighting conditions, from bright sunlight to complete darkness. This feature can be toggled or manually adjusted in the quick settings menu.
