- Whakahiko: Once the extension cord is plugged into a power source and an appliance is connected, press the "ON" side of the inline switch. The switch may illuminate to indicate power is flowing.
- Weto Whakakore: To cut power to the connected appliance, press the "OFF" side of the inline switch. The illumination on the switch will turn off.

- Check if the appliance itself is working by plugging it directly into a known working outlet.
- Inspect the circuit breaker or fuse for the outlet; reset if tripped.
- Switch Not Illuminating:
- The illumination is an indicator; the cord may still function. Follow "No Power to Appliance" steps.
- If the cord functions but the light does not, the indicator light may be faulty, but the cord is still usable.

- Immediately unplug the cord and the appliance.
- Ensure the connected appliance's power draw does not exceed the cord's 20A/125V rating.
- Avoid coiling the cord tightly during use, as this can trap heat.
