The BOOX Palma is a mobile ePaper device designed for an optimal reading experience with the convenience of a smartphone-sized form factor. It combines advanced performance with an E Ink display, making it easy to carry and use on the go.

This manual provides essential information on setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting your BOOX Palma. Please read it thoroughly to ensure proper use and to maximize your device's capabilities.

2. Tatūnga

2.1 Whakataki Tuatahi

Before first use, fully charge your BOOX Palma using the provided USB-C cable and a compatible power adapter. The device features a Lithium Ion battery.

Press and hold the Power Button (located on the side) to turn on the device. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the initial setup, including language selection, Wi-Fi connection, and Google account login.

2.3 Tāuta Taupānga

The BOOX Palma runs on Android 13 and includes access to the Google Play Store. You can download and install various third-party applications for reading, listening, and browsing. Examples include Kindle, Libby, Audible, Pinterest, and Spotify.

3. Operating Your BOOX Palma

3.1 He wheako panui

The 6.13-inch E Ink Carta 1200 display with 300 PPI resolution provides a comfortable, paper-like reading experience, reducing eye fatigue. You can access your Kindle books, Libby loans, and other e-content directly on the device.

Utilize the device's audio capabilities to listen to music or podcasts via applications like Spotify and Audible. Connect Bluetooth headphones or use the integrated speaker.

The BOOX Palma features a customizable Function Button and Volume Buttons. These can be configured for various actions such as going back, performing a full refresh, accessing the E Ink center, taking a screenshot, or turning pages.

3.4 Taumahinga Camera

The integrated 16MP rear camera with LED flash allows you to capture and digitize documents. This feature enhances the clarity and stability of document scans, even in low-light conditions.

3.5 Front Light Adjustment

Leveraging a light sensor, the dual-tone front lights automatically adjust to match ambient lighting conditions, providing comfortable viewte mahi i roto i ngā taiao rerekē.

To clean your BOOX Palma, gently wipe the screen and body with a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid using abrasive materials, alcohol, or chemical cleaners, as these can damage the display or finish.

The BOOX Palma features a water-repellent construction, offering protection against moderate water exposure like splashes and spills. However, it is not fully waterproof and should not be submerged in water.

Store your device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Avoid placing heavy objects on the device or exposing it to strong impacts.

  • Screen ghosting: The BOOX Super Refresh Technology is designed to reduce ghosting. If ghosting persists, perform a full screen refresh using the customizable function button or through device settings.

  • Applications crashing/freezing: Close and reopen the application. If the issue persists, clear the app's cache or reinstall it.
