1.2 Te Whakataki i te Papa
Before first use, fully charge the tablet. Connect the provided USB-C cable to the tablet's USB-C port and the charger. Plug the charger into a power outlet. The tablet supports up to 20W charging. A full charge typically takes approximately 3 hours.
1.3 Kei te Hiko / Weto
To power on, press and hold the Power button (located on the left spine) until the HOTWAV logo appears. To power off, press and hold the Power button, then select 'Power off' from the options.
1.4 Kaari SIM me te Whakataunga Kaari MicroSD
The HOTWAV R7 supports dual SIM cards and a microSD card for expandable storage up to 2TB. The SIM/TF card tray is located under a protective flap on the right spine of the tablet. Use the provided SIM ejector tool to open the tray. Carefully place your SIM cards and/or microSD card into the tray, ensuring correct orientation, then reinsert the tray and close the protective flap securely to maintain waterproofing.

1.5 Screen Protector Application (Optional)
The tablet comes with a pre-applied screen protector. An additional tempered glass screen protector is included in the box. If you choose to apply the additional protector, use the provided wet and dry wipes to clean the screen thoroughly before application to ensure a bubble-free installation.

2.1 Whakaterenga Taketake
The HOTWAV R7 runs on Android 13, offering a clean and intuitive user interface. Navigate using gestures or virtual navigation buttons, configurable in Settings > Navigation bar.
2.2 Tautuhinga Whakaatu
Access display settings via Settings > Display. Adjust brightness, enable dark theme, night light, and customize colors & contrast. The 10.1-inch HD+ IPS display offers 178° wide viewing angles and Widevine L1 certification for HD streaming.

2.3 Mahi me te Rokiroki
The tablet is powered by a Unisoc T606 octa-core processor with 6GB RAM + 6GB virtual RAM (expandable up to 12GB total RAM) and 256GB internal storage, expandable up to 2TB with a microSD card. This ensures smooth multitasking and ampte rokiroki mō ngā taupānga me ngā pāpāho.

2.4 Nga Mahi Kaamera
The HOTWAV R7 features a 16MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, and a 16MP front camera. Access camera modes like capture, video, pro, portrait, panorama, time-lapse, QR code scan, and audio note. Video recording is supported up to 1080p at 30fps.

2.5 Hononga
Stay connected with 4G LTE (dual SIM support), dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz/5GHz), and Bluetooth 5.0. The tablet also includes GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and Beidou for precise navigation.
2.6 Te Ora o te Pūhiko me te OTG Whakamuri Whakamuri
The 15,600mAh battery provides up to 18 hours of continuous video playback or 5 days of standby time. Utilize OTG reverse charging to power other devices like smartphones or wireless earbuds directly from your tablet.

2.7 Āhuahira Haumarutanga
The tablet supports Face ID for convenient unlocking. For enhanced security, set a PIN or password. An Emergency SOS mode can be activated by pressing the power button 5 times quickly, allowing you to call emergency services, share your location, or record a video.
2.8 Special Modes and Tools
- Te aratau kotahi-ringa: Accessible via Intelligent Assistance, this mode shrinks the display for easier single-hand operation (available in portrait orientation only).
- Freeform windows: Allows opening applications in mini-windows for multitasking. Activate via the multitasking tray.
- Parallel app: Run two instances of social media or messaging apps simultaneously.
- Aratau keemu: Optimizes system performance and blocks notifications for an uninterrupted gaming experience.
- Easy Launcher: Simplifies the home screen into a grid-like layout for ease of use.
- Child mode: Creates a secure environment for children by whitelisting specific apps and locking down system access with a password.
- Pouaka taputapu: Includes utility tools such as Sound Meter, Pic Hanging, Magnifier, Protractor, Plumb Bob, and Alarm Bell.
3. Tiaki
3.1 Te horoi
Clean the tablet with a soft, dry, non-abrasive cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a cloth lightly dampened with water or a mild solution. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
3.2 Te Wai me te Atete Puehu
The HOTWAV R7 is IP68/IP69K waterproof and MIL-STD-810H certified, making it dust-proof and resistant to water immersion up to 1.5m for 30 minutes. Ensure all port covers are securely closed to maintain water resistance. Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme conditions.

3.3 Te Paemahana
The tablet is designed to withstand extreme temperatures ranging from -20°C to 60°C. However, prolonged exposure to temperatures outside this range may affect performance or battery life.
3.4 Whakahōu Pūmanawa
HOTWAV provides quarterly Android security updates and occasional firmware updates to improve system stability and performance. Check for updates regularly in Settings > System > System Update.
4. Te Raru
4.1 Papa Kaore e Whakamana
Ensure the tablet is fully charged. If the battery is completely depleted, connect the charger and wait several minutes for the screen to illuminate before attempting to power on.
4.2 Nga Take Hononga
If unable to connect to Wi-Fi or cellular networks, ensure that the respective functions are enabled in Settings. For cellular connectivity, verify your SIM card is correctly inserted and your carrier is supported. Note that HOTWAV rugged tablets are not compatible with AT&T, Cricket, or Verizon networks, but fully support T-Mobile, Mint, Boost, and Google Fi.
4.3 Mata Karekau e aro
If the screen becomes unresponsive, try restarting the tablet. If the issue persists, perform a factory reset (back up your data first).
4.4 Performance Lag
If the tablet experiences slowdowns, try clearing cache, closing background apps, or freeing up storage space. Enabling virtual RAM (Settings > Virtual RAM) can also improve multitasking performance.
