Tatūnga
1. Utu Tuatahi
Before first use, fully charge your Nothing Ear (a) earbuds and charging case. Connect the provided Type-C cable to the charging case and a compatible USB power source. A full charge takes approximately 2 hours.
2. Takirua
- Open the charging case. The earbuds will automatically enter pairing mode (indicated by a flashing white light on the case).

- Select "Nothing Ear (a)" from the list of available Bluetooth devices.
- Once connected, the light on the case will turn solid white.
3. Taupānga Tāuta
For full functionality and customization, download the Nothing X app from your device's app store (iOS or Android). The app allows you to customize EQ settings, control noise cancellation modes, update firmware, and more.

Mana whakahaere
Nothing Ear (a) features intuitive pinch gestures on the earbud stems for control. These controls can be customized via the Nothing X app.
- Paoa Rua: Play/Pause music, Answer/End calls. Customizable for track control or voice assistant.
- Paato Toru: Skip tracks (forward/backward). Customizable for voice assistant.
- Paoa me te Puritia: Toggle Noise Control modes (ANC, Transparency, Off). Customizable for voice assistant.
- Double Tap & Hold: Adjust volume (up/down). Customizable for voice assistant.
Mana Haruru
Experience superior audio with various noise control modes:
- Whakakore Haruru Hohe (ANC): Up to 45 dB of hybrid noise cancellation. Automatically checks for noise leakage and applies optimal cancellation.
- Aratau Puataata: Ka taea e koe te rongo i to taiao i a koe e pai ana ki to ororongo.
- Weto: Disables noise cancellation and transparency mode.
- ANC urutau: Automatically adjusts the level of noise cancellation based on your environment (selectable in Nothing X app).
Āhuatanga Ororongo
- Powerful 11mm Dynamic Driver: Delivers deep bass performance with improved airflow for richer clarity.
- Ororongo Hi-Res: Certified for playback up to 990kbps and frequencies up to 24 bit/96 kHz (requires devices supporting LDAC).
- Bass Enhance Algorithm: Real-time low frequency enhancement for detailed bass-heavy sounds.
- Ororongo Mokowā: Ka whakarato i tētahi wheako oro rumaki.
Hononga
- Nihokikorangi 5.3: Ka whakarite hononga ahokore pumau me te pai.
- Hono rua: Stay connected to two devices simultaneously (e.g., laptop and phone) and seamlessly switch between them.
- Low Lag Mode: Reduces audio latency for improved gaming experience (automatically triggered in Game Mode on Nothing phones).
Kounga Waea
Equipped with Clear Voice Technology and 6 microphones, Nothing Ear (a) isolates your voice from distractions, ensuring clear conversations even in noisy environments. An extra airway on the stem reduces wind interference by 60% compared to previous models.

- Tapeke Te Wā Purei: Up to 42.5 hours with the charging case (ANC off).
- Wā Purei taringa: Up to 9.5 hours on a single charge (ANC off); 5.5 hours (ANC on).
- Whakataki Tere: 10 minutes of charging provides 10 hours of music playback (ANC off).
- Whakapaa Putea Raukaha Raukaha: 500 mAh.
- Kei te utu: Via Type-C cable. Wireless charging is not supported.

Regularly clean your earbuds and charging case to ensure optimal performance and hygiene. Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
- Nga taringa taringa: Gently wipe the earbuds, especially the ear tips and charging contacts. Remove ear tips and clean any earwax or debris from the mesh.
- Kei te Whakatakihia te Puhi: Wipe the interior and exterior of the charging case. Ensure charging pins are free of debris.
Ātete wai
The Nothing Ear (a) earbuds are rated IP55 for dust and water resistance, making them suitable for workouts and light rain. The charging case is also IP55 rated. Avoid submerging the earbuds or case in water, and do not expose them to saltwater, chlorinated water, or other liquids.

- Kore Oro/Rirahi Iti: Ensure earbuds are charged, connected, and volume is up on both earbuds and device. Check for debris in ear tips.
- Nga Take Hononga: Place earbuds back in case, close lid, then reopen to re-enter pairing mode. Forget device in Bluetooth settings and re-pair.
- Kaore i te Mahi: Ensure earbuds are properly seated. Check device's microphone settings.
- Karekau e Whakatakihia nga taringa: Ensure charging cable is securely connected. Clean charging pins on earbuds and case.
Tautuhi Anō I Nga Earbuds
If issues persist, a factory reset may resolve them. Refer to the Nothing X app for specific reset instructions, or consult the official Nothing support webpae.
