2. Hua Neke Atuview
The Tefal Express Steam+ Iron FV2882G0 is designed for efficient and effortless ironing. Familiarize yourself with its components:

3. I mua i te Whakamahinga Tuatahi

- For the first use, iron an old piece of fabric (e.g., an old towel) for a few minutes to remove any manufacturing residues from the soleplate and steam vents. This may produce a slight odor or light smoke, which is normal and will dissipate.
4. Whakaki i te Taaka Wai
The iron features a 270ml water tank for extended ironing sessions.
- Ensure the iron is unplugged from the mains socket.
- Set the steam control selector to the 'Dry Ironing' position (no steam).
- Puritia te rino ki te tuunga whakapae.

- Carefully pour tap water into the water tank up to the 'MAX' level indicator. Do not overfill.

Tuhipoka: While tap water is generally suitable, in areas with very hard water, it is recommended to mix 50% tap water with 50% distilled water to prolong the life of your iron. Do not use 100% distilled water as it can cause the iron to spit. Never use perfumed water, water from tumble dryers, or chemically descaled water, as these can damage the iron.

5. Te Whakahaere i te Rino
5.1. Te Tautuhinga i te Pawera
The iron features 5 precision temperature settings to tailor the heat for every fabric type.
- Plug the iron into an earthed mains socket.
- Turn the temperature control dial to the desired setting according to the fabric care label. Start with lower temperatures for delicate fabrics and increase for heavier materials.
- Ka tiaho te rama tohu, hei tohu kei te wera te rino. Ka mate ina tae ki te pāmahana kua whakaritea.
5.2. Maamaa rino
Ensure the water tank is filled (refer to Section 4).
- Set the temperature control dial to the steam zone (usually indicated by steam symbols on the dial).
- Once the indicator light turns off, indicating the iron is at temperature, you can select your desired steam level using the steam control selector.
- For a powerful steam boost of up to 190 g/min, press the steam trigger/boost button. This is effective for stubborn creases.
5.3. Whakamamaa Poutū
This feature allows you to remove creases from hanging garments, curtains, or upholstery.

5.4. Te rino maroke
For fabrics that require dry ironing, or when the water tank is empty:
- Set the steam control selector to the 'Dry Ironing' position (no steam symbol).

- Wait for the indicator light to turn off before ironing.
5.5. Mahi rehu
Mā te mahi rehu ka āwhina i te dampen te reuke pakeke.
- Press the spray button to emit a fine mist of water onto the fabric.
5.6. Automatic Safety Shut-Off
For enhanced safety, the iron is equipped with an auto shut-off feature:
- If left motionless on its soleplate or side, the iron will automatically switch off after approximately 30 seconds.
- If left motionless on its heel rest, it will switch off after approximately 8 minutes.
- To restart the iron, simply move it. The indicator light will illuminate, and the iron will reheat to the set temperature.
