The Silva Discover head torch operates on either 3x AAA batteries or a rechargeable Silva Hybrid Battery. Batteries are not included with this model.
- Locate the battery compartment on the rear of the lamp wae.

Power On/Off and Brightness Levels
The head torch is operated using a single large button, designed for easy use even with gloves.
- Hei Whakakā: Press the power button once. The head torch will activate in the last used white light mode.
- To Cycle Brightness: While the white light is on, press the power button repeatedly to cycle through the brightness levels: MAX (500 lm) → MED (100 lm) → MIN (15 lm).
- Hei Whakakore: Hold the power button for approximately 1 second.
LED Color Modes
The Silva Discover features three distinct LED colors for various applications.
- Maama Maama: For general illumination during outdoor activities.
- Maama Whero: Preserves night vision. To activate, press and hold the power button for 2 seconds from the OFF state. Cycle through red light modes by pressing the button.
- Maama karaka: Ideal for map reading. To activate, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds from the OFF state. Cycle through orange light modes by pressing the button.
Mahi Maukati
To prevent accidental activation and conserve battery during transport or storage, use the built-in lock function.
- Hei Maukati: From the OFF state, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds until the light flashes briefly, indicating it is locked.
- Hei Wewete: Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds until the light flashes briefly, indicating it is unlocked and ready for use.

Kei teamp unit can be tilted up to 90 degrees to adjust the beam direction, optimizing visibility for different terrains or tasks.

Tohu Pūhiko
The head torch features a 4-step battery indicator to show the remaining power level. The green LEDs on the side of the lamp unit will illuminate to indicate the battery status.
