- Wāhanga Whakaaturanga Matua: Place the main unit indoors in a central location, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, or drafts that could affect readings. It can be placed on a tabletop using its integrated stand or mounted on a wall.
- Panui Ahokore Ahokore: For accurate outdoor readings, place the wireless sensor in a shaded area, protected from direct sunlight and rain. While it has an IP43 waterproof rating, prolonged exposure to heavy rain or submersion should be avoided. Ensure it is within the 100-meter (328-foot) wireless range of the main unit, with minimal obstructions for optimal signal transmission.

The main unit can be placed on a tabletop using its integrated stand or mounted on a wall for versatile placement options.

The outdoor sensor is designed to withstand outdoor conditions, featuring an IP43 waterproof rating to protect against rain and splashes.

After installing batteries in both the main unit and the outdoor sensor, the main unit will automatically power on and begin searching for the outdoor sensor signal. The outdoor temperature and humidity readings should appear on the display within a few minutes. If readings do not appear, ensure both units have fresh batteries and are within range.

- Te pāmahana me te haumākū: The display shows current indoor ('IN') and outdoor ('OUT') temperature and humidity.
- Tohu Taumata Whakamarie: Located on the display, this indicator uses three colors to show the current comfort level: MORERO (humidity < 30%), WHAKAMAHI (30% ≤ humidity ≤ 69%), MAKU (humidity ≥ 70%).
- Wā me te Rā: The current time and date are displayed at the bottom of the screen.
- Tohu Pūhiko Iti: An icon will appear on the display when batteries need replacement.

The device features a touch-activated backlight, making it easy to read temperature and humidity values in the dark. The backlight stays on for 15 seconds.
