3. Tatūnga

- Place the generator on a horizontal surface.
- Unscrew the bolts on the side cover and remove the cover to access the engine oil dipstick.
- Unscrew and remove the oil dipstick.
- Using the provided funnel, add 0.5 liters of recommended engine oil (e.g., 10W-40).
- Use the oil dipstick to check the oil level. The oil level should be between the upper and lower scales on the dipstick.
- Screw the oil dipstick back in and reattach the side cover.

3.2. Tāpirihia te Wahie

3.3. Connect Battery Cable
For electric and remote start functions, ensure the battery is properly connected.
- Locate the battery compartment, usually behind a side panel.
- Remove the protective cap from the charging connector.
- Align the charging connector with the interface and plug it in tightly.
- Connect the battery cable securely.
- Replace the side cover and screw in the bolts.
3.4. Air Filter Element Cleaning (Initial Check)
While this is typically maintenance, it's good practice to check the air filter during initial setup.
- Unscrew the bolts on the side cover and open the cover.

- Take out the air filter element. Inspect for any debris or damage.
- If dirty, clean it according to the maintenance section. For initial setup, ensure it's properly seated.
- Put the element back into the air filter.

4. Te Whakahaere i te Pūhiko
Your LIFAN LF4800iE generator offers multiple starting methods and operational modes.
4.1. Starting Procedures (Electric/One-Button Start)
- Ensure the fuel cap breather is in the "ON" position.
- Tahurihia te pana wahie ki te tūranga "ON".
- Turn the main power switch (POWER.SW) on the control panel to the "ON" position.
- Press the "ENGINE START/STOP" button once. The generator should start. If it doesn't start immediately, press the button again.
- Once running, the "START/STOP" light will be green, indicating normal operation.

4.2. Tīmata Mamao
The LF4800iE features a wireless remote start for convenience.
- Ensure the fuel cap breather is in the "ON" position.

- Turn the main power switch (POWER.SW) on the control panel to the "ON" position.
- Press and hold the "ENGINE START/STOP" button on the generator's control panel for approximately 15 seconds, until you see a red-green flashing light.

- To stop the generator via remote, press the "OFF" button on the remote control once.
4.3. Manual (Recoil) Start
If the electric start is unavailable (e.g., low battery), you can manually start the generator.
- Ensure the fuel cap breather is in the "ON" position.

- Turn the main power switch (POWER.SW) on the control panel to the "ON" position.
- Pull the recoil starter handle quickly and firmly until the engine starts.
- Once the engine starts, slowly return the recoil starter handle to its original position.

The ECO Mode switch allows the generator to adjust engine speed based on the load, improving fuel efficiency and reducing noise.
- ECO Mode ON: The generator will run at a lower RPM when the load is light, saving fuel and reducing noise.
- ECO Mode OFF: The generator will run at a constant high RPM, providing full power output. Use this for heavy loads or when consistent power is needed.

- Tauranga USB: Includes 5V 1A and 5V 2.1A USB ports for charging small electronic devices.

4.6. Turning Off the Generator
- Before turning off the generator, unplug all electrical equipment.
- Press the "ENGINE START/STOP" button on the control panel.
- Rotate the fuel cap breather to the "OFF" position.
- Turn off the fuel switch to the "OFF" position.
- Turn off the main power switch (POWER.SW) to the "OFF" position.
5. Tiaki

- Screw the oil dipstick back in and reattach the side cover.

- Apply a few drops of engine oil to the element and squeeze out any excess.
- Put the element back into the air filter.
- Cover it back and put the side cover back, then tighten the bolts.
