4. Tatūnga
Taiao Tāuta:
- Install the battery in a dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
- Ensure the installation surface is stable and can support the battery's weight.
Connecting Batteries (Series and Parallel):
The Dyness 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 battery can be connected in series (up to 4 batteries for 48V systems) and in parallel (up to 4 batteries for increased capacity) to meet various energy requirements. Always ensure all batteries are of the same type, capacity, and state of charge before connecting them.
- Hononga Whakarara: Connect positive terminals to positive terminals and negative terminals to negative terminals. This increases the total capacity (Ah) while maintaining the voltage (12V).
- Hononga Rangatū: Honoa te pito pai o tētahi pākahiko ki te pito kino o tētahi atu. Mā tēnei ka piki ake te tapeke o te hikotage (V) while maintaining the capacity (Ah).

Whakaahua 6: Examples of battery configurations. The battery can be connected in various configurations to achieve desired energy banks, such as 1P1S (1.28kWh), 2P2S (5.12kWh), and 4P4S (20.48kWh).
Hononga Kapeka:
The battery uses M8 terminals. Ensure all connections are secure and properly torqued to prevent loose connections and potential arcing.
5. Nga Tohutohu Whakahaere
Kei te utu:
For optimal battery health and fastest/safest charging, it is highly recommended to use a LiFePO4-specific charger. Recharging at a 0.2C rate (20A for a 100Ah battery) is recommended for optimal battery longevity.
- Connect the charger's positive lead to the battery's positive terminal and the negative lead to the battery's negative terminal.
- Ensure the charger settings are appropriate for a 12.8V LiFePO4 battery.
- Monitor the charging process, especially for the first few charges.
Te tukunga:
The battery's built-in BMS protects against over-discharging. However, it is good practice to avoid consistently discharging the battery to its absolute minimum to maximize its lifespan.
- Connect your load to the battery terminals, ensuring correct polarity.
- Do not exceed the maximum continuous discharge current specified in the specifications.
6. Tiaki
Takitaki auau:
- Periodically inspect the battery terminals for corrosion or loose connections. Clean as necessary.
- Ensure the battery is kept clean and free of dust and debris.
- Tirohia te pākahiko casing for any signs of damage or swelling. If damage is observed, discontinue use and contact support.
Rokiroki:
- If storing the battery for an extended period, ensure it is charged to approximately 50% State of Charge (SOC).
7. Te Raru
The built-in 100A BMS provides extensive protection, which may cause the battery to shut down under certain conditions. Refer to the table below for common issues and their solutions.
| Raruraru | Take pea | Rongoā |
|---|---|---|
| Karekau te pākahiko e utu ana | Over-discharge protection activated, low-temperature charging protection, charger issue, loose connection. | Check battery temperature (must be above 0°C/32°F). Verify charger functionality and connections. If deeply discharged, a specialized charger might be needed to reactivate. |
| Battery not discharging (no power output) | Over-discharge protection, over-current protection, short circuit protection, low-temperature discharging protection. | Reduce load. Check for short circuits in the system. Ensure battery temperature is above -20°C/-4°F. Disconnect load for a few minutes to allow BMS to reset. |
| Te wera o te pākahiko | Excessive load, poor ventilation, high ambient temperature. | Reduce load. Ensure adequate ventilation around the battery. Move battery to a cooler environment if possible. The BMS will activate over-temperature protection. |
| Ngā kakara rerekē, te pupuhi rānei | Internal cell damage. | Immediately disconnect the battery from all loads and chargers. Do not attempt to use or repair. Contact Dyness customer support immediately. |
If you encounter issues not listed here or if the suggested solutions do not resolve the problem, please contact Dyness customer support for assistance.
