- Akona Tuatahi: Before installation, fully charge the door's internal battery using the provided USB-C cable. This ensures optimal performance from the start.
- Tāutahia te Wāhanga Tatau: Position the automatic chicken door unit on your chicken coop where you intend for the entrance/exit. Secure it firmly using the included screws. Ensure the door has a clear path for opening and closing.
- Tāutahia te Paewhiri Solar: The solar panel is crucial for continuous charging. Choose a location that receives maximum direct sunlight throughout the day. You can either mount it directly onto the coop wall or use a ground stake (if provided) to position it in an optimal sunny spot.

The solar panel can be installed either on a ground stake in a sunny location or directly mounted onto the chicken coop wall, offering flexible placement options.

The integrated solar panel charges the 2000mAh battery, providing extended operation. Ensure the panel is positioned for maximum sunlight exposure.

- Aratau Wā: Set specific opening and closing times for the door. This allows for precise scheduling based on your daily routine or seasonal changes. Refer to the detailed instructions in the included user manual for setting specific times.
- Aratau Pūoko Maama: The door will automatically open at dawn and close at dusk, based on ambient light levels. This mode adapts to natural daylight cycles, providing hands-free operation.
- Mana Mamao: Use the provided remote control to manually open or close the door at any time. This is useful for immediate access or overriding automatic settings. The remote has dedicated ON and OFF buttons.
- Mana a-ringa: While the remote offers manual override, the system is primarily designed for automated or remote operation.

The chicken flap offers four distinct operating modes: automatic control via light sensor, scheduled operation using a timer, manual control with the remote, or direct manual interaction.
5.1. Anti-Pinch Function
The door is equipped with an intelligent anti-pinch safety feature to protect your poultry. If the door encounters resistance during its closing cycle, it will automatically reverse and reopen for approximately 3 seconds before attempting to close again. This mechanism helps prevent injury to any chickens or other objects in the doorway.

- Door Not Opening/Closing:
- Check the battery charge level. Ensure the unit has been fully charged via USB-C and that the solar panel is receiving adequate sunlight.
- Inspect the door tracks and opening for any physical obstructions (dirt, debris, frozen elements). Clear any blockages.
- If using Light Sensor mode, verify that the sensor is not obstructed or covered.

- Erratic Operation (Opens/Closes Randomly):
