7. Binding and Operation
7.1 Tikanga Here
To bind the receiver with your transmitter module:
- Power on the receiver three times quickly. After the third power-on, the LED light on the receiver will flash at intervals of 1.5 seconds and then flash twice, indicating it is in binding mode.
- On your remote control, turn on the ELRS Lua script and click the KAUPAPA button to initiate the binding process.

8. Te Whakakā i te Pūmanawa
Firmware updates can be performed via Wi-Fi mode or by connecting to the ground station through the flight controller.
8.1 Wi-Fi Wireless Flashing
- Prepare the firmware first.
- Enter the receiver into Wi-Fi mode.
- Use a mobile phone or computer to connect to the receiver's Wi-Fi network (name: ExpressLRS RX, password: expresslrs).
- After connecting, it will automatically jump to the flashing interface. If it does not, enter 10.0.0.1 in your browser address bar to access the flashing interface.
- Select the prepared firmware file me te uira.
8.2 Wired Flashing
Connect the receiver to the flight controller, set the port and protocol, then turn on the ELRS ground station. Select the corresponding brand and model, and then flash the firmware.
9. Troubleshooting (Frequently Asked Questions)
9.1 Which brands of TX module can the HGLRC elrs2.4g receiver pair with?
ELRS is an open-source project. Any brand can be linked, provided the following three conditions are met:
- The receiver and TX module are both 2.4G or 915MHz.
- The firmware version of the receiver is consistent with the firmware version of the TX module (e.g., 2.x matches 2.x, and 3.x matches 3.x).
- There is no password for linking, or the same password is set. Our receivers leave the factory with 3.0 firmware without a password.
9.2 How to link the receiver and TX module?
The receiver is powered on and off three times quickly. After the third power-on, the LED light of the receiver circulates at intervals of 1.5 seconds and flashes twice to indicate that the receiver enters the frequency binding mode. Turn on the remote control, enter the ELRS Lua script of the remote control, and click BIND to link frequency.
9.3 After the receiver is powered on, why is it always on without frequency binding?
When the receiver is connected to the TX and RX ports on the flight controller abnormally, it can lead to the LED being always on. At this time, you can replace a TX and RX port for testing, or check whether the line sequence is correct. The correct connection should be that the TX of the receiver is connected to the flight controller's RX, and RX is connected to TX (TX is the transmitting port, RX is the receiving port).
9.4 Does the LED light flash quickly when the receiver is left standing for a while?
The receiver will automatically enter the Wi-Fi mode if it does not receive a signal from the remote control for about 30 seconds after it is powered on, and it will exit this mode when it is powered on again.
10. Tiaki
To ensure the longevity and reliable performance of your HGLRC ELRS 2.4GHz ExpressLRS RX Nano Module, consider the following maintenance tips:
- Pupuri Ma: Regularly inspect the module for dust or debris and gently clean with a soft, dry brush if necessary. Avoid using liquids.
- Parenga mai i te Paanga: Ensure the module is securely mounted within your drone to prevent damage from crashes or vibrations.
- Tiaki Antenna: Handle the antenna carefully to avoid bending or breaking. A damaged antenna can significantly reduce range and signal quality.
- Rokiroki: When not in use, store the module in a dry, cool environment, away from direct sunlight and static electricity.
