Before first use, ensure the battery is properly installed and charged.

  3. Hiranga: If there is an insulating sheet at the bottom of the battery, tear it off before inserting the battery. Failure to do so will prevent the radio from powering on or charging.

The BAOFENG F22 uses a convenient Type-C USB charging port.

  1. Connect the Type-C USB cable to the Type-C port on the side of the radio.
  2. Connect the other end of the cable to a compatible USB power source (e.g., PC, car charger, power bank, or wall adapter).
  3. The charging indicator on the radio will show the charging status.
  4. A full charge typically takes several hours. The 1400mAh battery supports long standby times.

The F22 includes NOAA weather alert functionality, scanning 12 NOAA Weather channels (available in the United States and Canada).

  • To activate the weather alert function, press the Weather Monitor Button (6).
  • When activated, the radio will alert you to severe weather conditions, providing time to prepare for events like tornadoes, hurricanes, or floods.

Sub-tone function interference.If experiencing interference or difficulty connecting, try turning off the Sub-tone function. Press the Tahua/Maka Patene (8) twice to access sub-tone settings, then use the Up/Down buttons to select OFF.
