4. Tatūnga

The landing gear is designed for easy attachment and removal. Gently push the wire ends of the landing gear into the designated slots on the underside of the fuselage until they click into place. Ensure they are securely fastened before flight.

4.2. Whakawhiti Pūhiko Tāuta

Open the battery compartment on the back of the 2.4GHz transmitter. Insert 4 AA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity. Close the battery compartment securely.

4.3. Aircraft Battery Connection

Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the aircraft. Connect the fully charged USB-C rechargeable battery to the aircraft's power connector. Secure the battery within the compartment.

Use the provided USB charger to charge the aircraft's battery. Connect the battery to the USB charger, then plug the charger into a compatible USB power source (e.g., computer, USB wall adapter). The indicator light on the charger will show the charging status. Ensure the battery is fully charged before each flight for optimal performance.

6.1. Ngā Aratau Rere

The Fms 410mm T-28 offers three distinct flight modes to accommodate various skill levels:

  1. Aratau Timata: Provides maximum stability and limited control angles, making it easy for first-time pilots to learn.
  2. Aratau Waenganui: Offers more freedom in control while still providing some stabilization assistance.
  3. Aratau Tohunga: Full manual control with no stabilization assistance, for advanced aerobatics and experienced pilots.

Switch between modes using the designated button/switch on your transmitter.

6.2. One-Key Return

The aircraft features a one-key return function. When activated, the plane will automatically turn around and fly back towards its take-off point. Refer to the video below for a demonstration of this feature.

6.3. Te Rere me te Taunga

  • Whakarewa: Place the aircraft on a flat surface facing into the wind. Gradually increase throttle and gently apply elevator input to lift off.
  • Whakataunga: Reduce throttle and align the aircraft with the landing area. Maintain a slight nose-up attitude and gently reduce throttle further for a smooth touchdown.

7. Tiaki

  • EPP Foam Care: The durable EPP foam is designed to withstand minor impacts. In case of damage, use foam-safe adhesive for repairs.
  • Kaitiaki Pourewa: The propeller guard helps protect the propeller during crashes. Inspect it regularly for damage and replace if necessary.
  • Te horoi: Wipe down the aircraft with a soft, dry cloth after each use to remove dirt and debris.
  • Rokiroki: Store the aircraft in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Remove the battery from the aircraft and transmitter during storage.

8. Te Raru

  • Excessive Sensitivity: If controls feel too sensitive, especially in Optimized-stabilization Mode, adjust the control rods or consider using Beginner Mode until you gain more experience.
  • Propeller Issues: If the propeller sounds unusual or the plane vibrates, check for damage to the propeller or propeller guard. Replace if necessary.
  • Wheel Detachment: If a wheel detaches, ensure the wire end is securely bent or fastened to prevent recurrence.
  • Ngaronga Mana: Immediately switch to Beginner Mode or activate One-Key Return if you feel you are losing control.
