1. Tāuta Pūhiko
The Fenix PD26R ACE uses one ARB-L18-1600 rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery. Ensure the battery is inserted with the positive (+) end facing towards the flashlight head.
2. Te Whakataki i te Pūhiko
To charge the flashlight, locate the hidden USB-C charging port. This port is revealed by twisting the section of the flashlight body directly opposite the side switch. Connect the provided USB-C cable to the flashlight and a power source. The battery indicator will show charging status.

A full charge typically takes approximately 2 hours. The battery indicator light will change color and/or flash to indicate the remaining battery life:
- Kākāriki mārō: 100% - 85%
- Kohiko Kakariki: 85% - 50%
- Whero Mārō: 50% - 25%
- Rama Whero: 25% - 1% (Critical amount, recharge immediately)

1. Power On/Off (Tail Switch)
The tail switch controls the basic on/off function:
- Moemata i runga: Tap the tail switch.

2. Mode Selection (Side Switch)
Once the flashlight is on, use the side switch to cycle through the various brightness levels and special modes (Strobe, SOS) available in the currently selected SET mode.
3. SET Mode (ACE Technology)
The Fenix PD26R ACE features three distinct SET modes, allowing you to customize the available light levels based on your needs. To change the SET mode, press the 'SET' button located near the head of the flashlight. The indicator lights (1, 3, 5) will show the currently active SET mode.

- Option 1 (Tactical Operation): Provides access to Turbo and Strobe modes for high-intensity situations.
- Option 2 (Security Duty): Offers Eco, Low, High, Turbo, and Strobe modes, suitable for patrols and security checks.
- Option 3 (Everyday Outdoor Activity): Includes all five brightness levels (Eco, Low, Medium, High, Turbo), plus Strobe and SOS, for versatile daily and outdoor use. This is the initial default setting.
Strobe mode can be turned off separately by holding down the SET button if it is not desired in any of the options.

4. Light Levels and Run Times
The flashlight offers various output levels:

Note: Turbo output is measured in total of runtime including output at reduced levels due to temperature or protection mechanism. Specifications are based on Fenix laboratory testing using one Fenix ARB-L18-1600 battery under 21±3°C and 50%-80% humidity. Actual performance may vary.
