Connecting to Host Devices

The Ruby Arcade Controller supports Xinput, Android, and Dinput modes for connection to various devices.

Connect the Type-A cable (A) to the USB-C cable port (6) on the controller for power and data. The power indicator (R1) will light up. The indicator remains solid once fully charged.

To connect wirelessly, use the USB Dongle (14).

  1. Plug the USB Dongle (14) into your host device (PC, mobile phone, etc.).
  2. The R1 power indicator on the controller will light up, indicating a successful connection.

Tuhipoka: Do not connect the USB cable in 2.4G wireless mode; otherwise, the device will switch to USB cable mode by default.

Repairing the Controller with the USB Dongle

If the controller needs to be re-paired with the USB Dongle (14):

  1. Plug the USB Dongle (14) into your host device.
  2. Press and hold the USB Dongle button (B) on the USB Dongle (14) until the indicator on the dongle starts flashing.
  3. The controller will automatically reconnect to the USB Dongle.

Tuhipoka: If the Ruby controller does not need to be paired with the USB Dongle (14) again, do not press and hold the USB Dongle button (B) when plugging in or removing the receiver.

Powering On/Off and Resetting

  • Whakahiko: Press the RESET button (15) to power on the device.
  • Tautuhi: Press the RESET button (15) to restore the Ruby controller from update mode to normal controller mode.

BACK/C Mode Selection

The controller features a switch to select between BACK and C modes. Use this to toggle between different input interpretations as needed by your game or application.

Joystick Direction Mode Selection (DP/LS)

The controller allows you to switch between D-Pad (DP) and Left Stick (LS) modes for joystick input.

  • DP (D-Pad): For traditional directional pad input.
  • LS (Left Stick): For analog stick input.

Tuhipoka: Some retro emulators only support the LS function. If the joystick does not respond, please switch the direction mode.

Mahinga TURBO

The TURBO button allows you to set rapid-fire functionality for certain buttons.

To set TURBO:

  1. Press and hold the TURBO button.
  2. While holding TURBO, press the desired action button (Y, X, A, B, R1, L1, R2, L2, R3, L3).
  3. Release both buttons. The selected button will now have the turbo function enabled.

Tuhipoka:

  • The directional buttons (↑, ↓, ←, →) cannot be set to the turbo function.
  • The turbo function has no memory. All turbo settings will be cleared automatically when the USB wired connection is disconnected or the device is powered off wirelessly.

The MF button (Multi-Function) provides additional programmable functionality. Refer to specific game or application instructions for its use.

Product Operation Repairing the Controller with the USB Dongle
· If the connection is lost or the USB Dongle (14) is replaced, press and hold USB Dongle button (B) on the USB Dongle (14) and insert it into the USB port of the host device.
· After removing the USB Dongle (14), reinsert it into the USB port of the host device without pressing USB Dongle button (B) again to complete pairing with the powered-on Ruby controller.

*Note: Do not connect the USB cable in 2.4G wireless mode; otherwise, the device will switch to USB cable mode by default. The device will automatically power off if no connection is made within 2 minutes of turning on, or if there is no operation within 10 minutes after a successful connection.

· Press the MF button (10) to turn on the MF LED (8).

· Hold the directional button (13).

· With the MF LED (8) off (factory default), the four directional buttons operate in centerreset mode: · Press and (13) at the same time to reset to center. · Press and (13) at the same time to reset to center.
· Press the MF button (10) to turn on the MF LED (8). The four directional buttons will switch to lastinput priority mode:
